Lebanon is once again facing a violent war and a severe humanitarian crisis. Israeli attacks have expanded across the South, the Bekaa, and Beirut’s southern suburb, bringing a rising number of casualties and forcing many families to flee their homes. For the first time in its history, Lebanon is witnessing the largest wave of displacement it has ever experienced, with almost one million people forced from their homes.

Many families have taken refuge in schools and collective shelters, while others have sought safety with relatives or within host communities. Palestinian refugees are among the most vulnerable, as they already live in overcrowded camps and deteriorating homes, with more than 85 percent living below the poverty line.

In response, Taawon–Lebanon launched an emergency appeal to support displaced families and host communities affected by the war. In coordination with partner organizations, Taawon is providing urgent humanitarian assistance aimed at alleviating the suffering of displaced families while preserving their dignity.

Taawon’s interventions include the distribution of food and non-food parcels, as well as food vouchers and vouchers for essential items for displaced families staying with host households, enabling them to meet their most urgent needs. The response also includes winterization vouchers and ensures the provision of emergency health support, particularly for dialysis treatments, as patients require three dialysis sessions per week to survive.
