University Education

Only six percent of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon aged 25 and over have completed their university education. Major obstacles stand in their way: many drop out simply because they have no choice but to work in order to survive, the limited admission of Palestinians into the only public university in Lebanon, the high cost of private universities, and the lack of work opportunities after graduating (particularly for Palestinian refugee who are barred from many professions and cannot join unions and professional associations in Lebanon).
